Which UniFi Protect cameras and doorbells should I buy?
UniFi Protect's cameras are the G6, AI Series, G5, G4 and G3 cameras and the doorbells. G6 and AI-series cameras run person, vehicle, face and license plate detection on the camera itself.
The 360 models skip faces and plates. G5 and G4 cameras detect people and vehicles on the camera, but they need an AI Port for faces and plates. G3 cameras do motion detection only. Ubiquiti no longer makes the G3 models. Almost every camera is wired PoE. Only the Instant cameras are Wi-Fi with USB power, and the G4 Doorbell and G4 Doorbell Pro are Wi-Fi too.
B is the black edition and W or White the white edition.

The SKU is on the camera label and in the Protect device list. Every Protect camera and doorbell SKU starts with UVC, then the generation (G3, G4, G5, G6) or AI, then the body style.
Colour. A -B suffix is the black edition and -W or -White the white edition. The Doorbell Lite is the exception. The black unit is UVC-Doorbell-B and the white unit is UVC-Doorbell-Lite-W.
Wi-Fi or PoE. The Instant models (G3, G4 and G6) are Wi-Fi with Bluetooth and a 5V 2A USB adapter, and PoE needs an optional adapter. The G3 Micro is Wi-Fi with an AC or Instant PoE adapter. The G4 Doorbell and G4 Doorbell Pro are Wi-Fi on 16 to 24V AC wiring (the Pro also takes USB-C). The Doorbell Lite and the G4 Doorbell Pro PoE Kit are PoE. Everything else is wired PoE at its rated PoE class, and PoE++ appears on the G4 PTZ, AI PTZ Industrial, AI PTZ Precision and AI Multi Sensor 4.
Port speed. Most G5 and G6 base models have a 10/100 port. The G4 Bullet, Dome and Pro, the AI models, the G6 Pro and the G6 Edge have gigabit.
Doorbells. The G4 Doorbell has one camera and a porch light. The G4 Doorbell Pro adds a package camera and a display. The Doorbell Lite is a slim 5MP PoE unit.
Domes. The G6 Dome and G6 Pro Dome are IK10 rated. The G6 Pro Dome is 163.8 mm across with optical zoom, and the G6 Dome is 144.7 mm. The G4 Dome and G5 Dome share a body size. The G5 Dome Ultra is a 63.6 mm mini dome, and the G6 Mini Dome is 100.8 mm.
Zoom bullets. The G4 Pro, G5 Pro and AI Pro share one 3x lens (F 4.1 to 12.3 mm), and the AI LPR uses the same lens. The G6 Pro Bullet and G6 Edge Bullet use a 2.36x lens (F 5.9 to 13.8 mm).
G6 180 and G6 Pro 360. The G6 180 has two 8MP sensors side by side. The G6 Pro 360 is a single 12MP fisheye.
G6 Edge. The three Edge models share the G6 Pro sensor and zoom and add a pre-installed 128 GB microSD for standalone use.
Sold out is not discontinued. Ubiquiti's Vintage list covers the models it no longer makes, and those are the G3 models. Sold-out G4 and AI models are not on that list. Ubiquiti names no replacement for any model.
