Disclosure: how this site earns money
Which links earn a commission, which do not, and what they cannot change
Amazon links here are plain search links and earn this site no commission.
The Amazon links on this site are plain search links with no Associates tracking ID. A purchase after following one earns the site no commission, and the price does not change. The site will say so on this page if it adds a tracking ID to any link.
Which links are which
- Manufacturer page. A link to the maker's own page for that exact model. These links earn nothing.
- Search Amazon for a model. A link to an Amazon search for the brand and model. A page with one says what kind of link it is in a line above it.
How the search links work
Each search is built from the brand, the model name and, when it is a clean part number, the manufacturer model number. Amazon decides what the results show, so the model number on the product page is the one to match. The site links straight to an Amazon product page only after the exact listing has been checked by hand, and the link says so.
The site shows no Amazon prices, ratings, reviews or product images, and does not copy Amazon listing titles. Discontinued products, and accessories not sold on their own, get no Amazon link.
Links never change what an entry says
Every fact on this site comes from a cited source, and the site writes and checks each entry itself. Whether a link earns money has no effect on which devices are listed, how they are described or how they are ordered. A device with no link at all is described the same way as one with two.
Other programs
The site may join the Amazon Associates program or other retailer or brand affiliate programs. Links in a program would be labelled as paid, carry their own disclosure line and be added to this page.
