SwitchBot's meters and sensors are small battery devices that mostly use Bluetooth, so remote alerts, cloud history and Matter all need a SwitchBot Hub.
A hub exposes every one of them to Matter, but the platform's own home gateway is still needed, such as a HomePod or Apple TV for HomeKit. The Water Leak Detector connects straight to Wi-Fi. The Presence Sensor works without a hub and links locally to a SwitchBot Bot, Relay or Light. Home Assistant reads all of them over Bluetooth with no hub.

SwitchBot gives model numbers for most of these. The Meter and Presence Sensor names vary slightly between listings, and the model number identifies them.
