Which Philips Hue Secure cameras, doorbell and sensors should I buy?
Hue Secure is Hue's own line of cameras, doorbell and sensor. It is a Wi-Fi and Zigbee system built around the Bridge.
The floodlight camera and contact sensor require one. The other cameras use it for light and sound alarms and automations.
The 1080p wired, desktop and battery cameras came first, in 2023. The 2K wired and desktop cameras and the 2K video doorbell arrived in 2025. The Smart Chime sounds when the doorbell is pressed. Hue sells the battery camera in the UK.
Lines compared
Hue Secure started in 2023 with 1080p wired and battery cameras and a contact sensor, added a floodlight camera in February 2024, and in 2025 added a 2K wired video doorbell, a Smart Chime and 2K wired and desktop cameras.[1–3]
The wired camera and the wired camera with desktop stand are the same 1080p camera. The 2K wired camera and 2K desktop camera are the same 2K camera. The desktop versions add a stand and do not rotate. Hue sells the 2K cameras in the UK.[4–7]
Hue says a Bridge is required for the full Secure feature set, such as light and sound alarms and automations, and for the floodlight camera and contact sensor.[1][2][8]
The doorbell is wired and needs a 12-24 V AC transformer with at least 10 VA, which is not included.[9]
