Which Philips Hue bridges should I buy?

Hue's bridges are the Hue Bridge Pro and the Hue Bridge v2, with the older round Hue Bridge v1.

The standard bridge handles 50 lights and 12 accessories, the Pro 150 lights and 50 accessories, and only the Pro supports MotionAware. Both expose Hue lights to Matter ecosystems as a Matter bridge. Hue says Matter-over-Thread bulbs still need a separate Thread border router. The round first-generation bridge has had no software updates or online services since April 30, 2020 and works only locally.
