The Thread models work with HomeKit and other Matter platforms without an Aqara hub.
They are the Door and Window Sensor P2 or Multi-State Sensor P100, the Motion and Light Sensor P2, the Presence Multi-Sensor FP300 or Spatial Multi-Sensor FP400, and the Climate Sensor W100. Each needs a Thread border router and a Matter controller. With an Aqara Zigbee hub, the T1 and P1 models give longer battery life and the full set of Aqara Home settings. The original sensors are Zigbee.
No Aqara hub. Needs a Matter controller with a Thread border router. Sensitivity and timeout settings need an Aqara Thread controller (e.g. Hub M3).[31]

Zigbee: Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub (e.g. M3, M200, M100). Thread: a third-party border router works with Aqara Home setup.[2][3]
Matter over Thread. Set up in Aqara Home to share 1 whole-area plus up to 8 zone occupancy sensors. Direct third-party setup limits it to one whole-area sensor.[2][3]
An older code. Many Aqara sensors carry one next to a newer Aqara code for the same product.[64][70][86]
Legacy letter stem + number (MCCGQ11LM, MCCGQ12LM)
The letter stem stays with one product type, and the number changes with each generation. Door and window runs from MCCGQ11LM to 14LM, motion from RTCGQ11LM to 15LM, and leak from SJCGQ11LM to 13LM. Temperature and humidity has WSDCGQ11LM and 12LM, and vibration has DJT11LM and 12LM.[70]
Newer Aqara codes start with a family prefix: DW door and window, MS motion, ML motion and light, PS presence, TH temperature and humidity, WL water leak, VB vibration (and the P100), SD smoke, AAQS the TVOC monitor, and CTP the Cube T1 Pro.[3][9][15][19][23][28][33][36][41][45][49][55][64][77][79][92][98]
Ending E or D (DW-S02E, DW-S02D)
Newer codes come in E and D pairs, and the box contents differ. Aqara explains the letters only for the Smoke Detector: SD-S01E is Online and SD-S01D is Offline. For the FP400, the two boxes are an Amazon Version and a Brand Retail Version.[3][9][15][19][23][33][36][41]
Series suffix (E1, T1, P1, P2)
Names are reused within a category, so there is no single catalog-wide ladder. The Motion Sensor P1 (RTCGQ14LM) and Door and Window Sensor P1 (MCCGQ13LM) are unrelated products. Aqara publishes no naming guide.[65][98][99]
VB-S03 and DWZTCGQ11LM (P100)
The Multi-State Sensor P100 has the vibration prefix VB in its Aqara code but a door-and-window-style older code. The prefix alone does not tell you it is a contact sensor.[9][100]
The model code is on the sensor's label and box. Many sensors carry two codes: an older one ending in LM and a newer Aqara code. The model code decoder above lists both.
The name alone does not identify a sensor. "P1" is both a motion sensor and an unrelated door sensor. Among the models here, the P2 sensors are Thread and the T1, P1 and E1 sensors are Zigbee. That is a pattern across these models, not a rule Aqara states.
